The Big Chill

1983 saw the release of the ensemble movie The Big Chill.

Starring Tom Berenger, Glen Close, Jeff Goldblum, William Hurt, Kevin Kline, Mary Kay Place, JoBeth Williams and Meg Tilly, it tells the story of a group of seven former college friends who gather for a weekend reunion after the funeral of one of their friends.

We will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the movie in podcast 003 which will be recorded this Sunday.

Take a look yourself and see if you can spot this guy....

The Fisher King

Scott's choice for Charlie in episode 003 of the podcast is Terry Gilliam's 1991 comedy drama The Fisher King.

Starring Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges, it's "A Modern Day Tale About The Search For Love, Sanity, Ethel Merman And The Holy Grail".

Now...who wouldn't enjoy a movie that included all of that....?

Also starring Mercedes Ruehl who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Anne.

And a wonderful performance from the late great Michael Jeter.

Also featuring Amanda Plummer.

Scott and Charlie will be recording this episode on Sunday and it should be available to download here at the blog and at iTunes by the following weekend.

Episode 002

They said it couldn't be done but Scott and Charlie are back for the second episode of The Stinking Pause podcast.

The Balaban Sound Studio temporarily becomes The Cave of Funk for this months pod as we discuss Dog Day Afternoon, The Sting and Space Jam.

We discuss Audrey Hepburn's aversion to chocolate, Charles Durning's liking for the same suit and Robert Shaw's dodgy knee.

Many thanks to The Film Thugs and the guys at The Film Bunker podcast for their kind words of encouragement.

Charlie's choice was Space Jam.

And it's Happy 40th Birthday to The Sting starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford.

The podcast should be edited and ready to download by the weekend hopefully. You'll be the first to know.
