Coming up in episode 005...the Halloween Special...

We will be recording a week from today and have invited special guests Liam and Paul to help us discuss five horror movies

Can you believe that The Exorcist is forty years old? It's our birthday movie this month.

Paul has chosen Darkness Falls from 2003, a creepy version of the Tooth Fairy legend

Liam has gone straight for the big guns with The Tobe Hooper classic version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Charlie's choice this month is An American Werewolf in London directed by John Landis

And finally for Scott's choice we go way back to 1931 for the oldest movie we've reviewed so far...James Whale's Frankenstein starring the legendary Boris Karloff

We will be recording a week on Saturday and the episode will be available to download shortly after.

The Remains of the Day

1993 was a busy year for great movies. We had Schindler's List, Jurassic Park and this Merchant Ivory production. Celebrate the 20th anniversary of this fine film with the Stinking Pause podcast 004. Recorded on Saturday and available soon to download on iTunes and at thestinkingpause.blogspot.co.uk

Starring Anthony Hopkins

Emma Thompson

James Fox

Christopher Reeve

and Hugh Grant

"A rule bound head butler's world of manners and decorum in the household he maintains is tested by the arrival of a housekeeper who falls in love with him in post-WWI Britain. The possibility of romance and his master's cultivation of ties with the Nazi cause challenge his carefully maintained veneer of servitude."

They end up with 7, each of whom comes for a different reason. They must prepare the town to repulse an army of 40 bandits who will arrive wanting food. An Americanization of the film, Seven Samurai."

"A romantic comedy about a man, a woman and a football team. Based on Nick Hornby's best selling autobiographical novel, Fever Pitch. English teacher Paul Ashworth believes his long standing obsession with Arsenal serves him well. But then he meets Sarah. Their relationship develops in tandem with Arsenal's roller coaster fortunes in the football league, both leading to a nail biting climax."
